Niagara Falls, ON - Four new champions were crowned Wednesday after the final round of the 2013 Golf Talk Canada PGA of Ontario Tour Championship presented by Pin High Apparel and Golf Supply House at Legends on the Niagara.

Bill Walsh from Fairtree Golf Centre maintained his lead to win the Assistants' Division on the Battlefield Course, Danny King came from behind to take the Regular Division, Ian Doig maintained his one-stroke margin for the Seniors' title and Megan Chapman broke free of a tie with Carrie Vaughan to earn the Ladies' crown.

Walsh picked up his first win of 2013 in Ontario with some stellar play as he carded the low score of the two-day tournament that features the top players in each division of the PGA of Ontario. With two bogey free rounds, Walsh finished at 68-69-137 to win the Regular Division by three strokes over John McCann of Fairtree Golf Centre 70-70-140 and Brian Groves from The Academy at Brae Ben Bradlee Ryall Golf at 70-70-140, while Jacob Patte from Oshawa GC settled for fourth at 70-71-141.

"I played well and didn't do anything crazy," said Walsh who missed just three greens in regulation for the 36-hole tournament. "Going into today's final round I wanted to go bogey free for the tournament and I achieved my goal, so it's a positive victory."

Danny King of The Performance Academy at Magna improved on his opening round 71 by two strokes to move from T2 into first place in the Regular Division. He birdied No. 8 and No. 9 before a bogey on No. 11, but came back with two birdies on No. 12 and No. 18 to get to 3-under on the day and 4-under for the tournament at 71-69-140.

"I didn't have any expectations coming in. I wasn't worried about a score. I was free-wheeling it a bit and turned in a solid effort in a good field," said King, who won the 2013 PGA of Ontario Spring Championship. "It's definitely a good warm-up for the upcoming Titleist Cup Matches that I'm looking forward to, so I'll stay sharp heading into that."

Jim Zwolak from the ClubLink Academy at Glen Abbey moved into second place at 1-under for the championship 73-70-143, while Conor O'Shea from the Academy at Piper's Heath 73-71-144 and Brian Hadley 72-72-144 finished T3.

Doig started the day with a one-stroke lead over rival Keir Smith and when all was said and done, Doig posted a one-stroke victory for the Seniors' title. Both players battled hard throughout the day in a see-saw battle that nearly went Smith's way on the final hole. For his second shot on No. 18, a par-5 that skirts water down the right side, Doig was faced with 233 yards to the green with some mud on his ball and he decided to go for the green in two. "I probably shouldn't have gone for it, but Keir had an iron in his hand so I said, "what the heck" and went for it. I cold topped my 3-wood and it skipped across the water, hit the rocks and bounced back about 40 yards into the waste bunker." From there Doig, who teaches out of the Ian Doig Academy, hit a terrific 7-iron and tapped in for par and Smith, who teaches out of The National Golf Club of Canada, missed his birdie putt to decide the match.

Chapman, who shifted gears after a disappointing opening nine on day one where she shot 5-over on the front, continued her strong play in the second round carding seven birdies, two bogeys and one double to win by three strokes 74-70-144 over Vaughan 74-73-147. "Since the back nine of the opening round, the hole seemed to get bigger and the putts started going in. I took that confidence that started to build late in the first round and kept it going today," said Chapman, who is the Head Teaching Professional at The Academy at The Georgian Bay Club. "I hit a lot of good wedges and rolled in some good putts and it was a good back and forth battle with Carrie today."
