adidas Eyewear to Become Presenting Sponsor of Hulbert Memorial Championship

Today, adidas Eyewear agreed to become the presenting sponsor of the Hulbert Memorial Championship. The Hulbert Memorial Championship, allows the Ontario PGA to donate essential revenue to its benevolent fund, while providing Canadian PGA Professionals, a wonderful opportunity to show the Officers of their Club the finest traditions of the Ontario PGA.

"We are happy that adidas Eyewear has partnered with us for the Hulbert Memorial Championship," said Ontario PGA President, Chris Miranda. "The Hulbert is a great event and a great cause and we're glad that adidas Eyewear is going to be there to enjoy the day."

The Ontario PGA Hulbert Memorial Championship is one of the longest running Ontario PGA Tournaments. The history of this event dates back to Arthur Hulbert who was the Professional at Thornhill Golf and Country Club from 1924 until his sudden death in 1945. Mr. Hulbert's demise left his family in dire straits and so together with the Members of Thornhill, his fellow Professionals staged a tournament in his honour with all the benefits going to aid his family.

That was the beginning of the Hulbert Memorial Fund; today named the Ontario PGA Benevolent Fund. Its purpose is to assist Ontario Professionals or their families who through illness, death or catastrophic circumstances require support.
