Dustin Kerr-Taylor Elected 39th President of
the Ontario Professional Golfers’ Association (Ontario PGA)

(Pickering, Ont. March 22, 2010) – The Ontario PGA is pleased to introduce Mr. Dustin Kerr-Taylor, Head Professional of The Mandarin Golf & CC as its new president. Kerr-Taylor takes over for outgoing president Chris Miranda who held the presidency since March of 2008.

“First and foremost I would like to thank my predecessor Chris Miranda for his tireless dedication to the Ontario PGA and the Ontario Board,” said Kerr-Taylor. “I am extremely humbled to be in this position and I am very much looking forward to affecting some positive change for the Ontario PGA and its 1300 members”.

Kerr-Taylor has served on the Ontario PGA Board since 2005. He has held a number of committee positions including membership chairman and most recently education chairman.

Born in Thunder Bay and raised in Dryden, Kerr-Taylor grew up in a big golf family. He spent his summers playing every day at the Dryden Golf & Curling Club under the tutelage of his dad and brother. Kerr-Taylor left Dryden in 1993 to pursue a career in the golf industry, enrolling in the Golf Academy of America (Orlando Campus).

Upon completion of his Associate Degree, Kerr-Taylor moved back to Ontario to begin his Canadian PGA apprenticeship.  Kerr-Taylor apprenticed under Brad Johnston (The Briars), John Porter (Rosedale) and four years as an Associate Professional under Warren Crosbie at Bayview Golf & Country Club where he truly developed into the professional he is today.

Kerr-Taylor, a devoted husband to Monique and a loving father to Hudson 6, and Addison 3, is entering his seventh season as the Head Professional at The Mandarin Golf & CC. Known in the industry as one of the hardest working Head Professionals, Kerr-Taylor looks to take that enthusiasm and continue to build on the current successes of the Association.

“The Ontario PGA means a great deal to me and I really like the direction we are going in,” said Kerr-Taylor. “We have a very strong and diverse Board and everyone around the table is excited about where we are headed both provincially and nationally.”

With the movement of Kerr-Taylor to President, David Main, General Manager/Executive Professional at Beacon Hall will move into the role of Vice President.
