Canadian Team Shoot-Out Named Title Sponsor of Ontario PGA
Head Professional / Assistant Professional Championship

(Pickering, Ont., - March 23, 2010) - The Ontario PGA is pleased to announce Canadian Team Shoot-Out (CTS) as the title sponsor of the Head Professional / Assistant Professional Championship. The HP / AP Championship boasts one of the largest field on the Ontario PGA Tournament schedule. Teams are comprised of one Head Professional and one Assistant Professional for a total of 240 players across Sunningdale’s 36 hole London facility.

“We are proud to be associated with the Canadian Team Shoot-Out,” said Dustin Kerr-Taylor, President of the Ontario PGA. “Our members have been an integral part to the success of CTS and we are looking forward to having an even bigger impact with CTS and in particular its charitable focus.”

Formed with the spirit of delivering a fun and worthwhile event, while encompassing the social responsibility to the community, the Canadian Team Shoot-Out has grown into a premier event hosting those who share our common spirit – Play for Fun, Win for Charity. CTS began in 1999 with just over a half a dozen clubs participating to over 40 in 2009 combining to donate over $200,000 to various charities since inception.

“We are excited about our partnership with the Ontario PGA and its 1300 members,” said Tournament Director and Canadian PGA Member Fred Schmidt. “We have been running the CTS for a number of years and we think our new affiliation with the Ontario PGA will allow us to grow and ultimately contribute more to charity and the game of the golf.”

The 2010 Canadian Team Shoot-Out Ontario PGA HP/AP Championship will take place at Sunningdale Golf & Country Club. Professional participants will be facing a new twist this year as the format for the HP/AP will match that of CTS. Commonly referred to as a Six/Six/Six, each team will play alternate shot, best ball and scramble over the course of their round. The lowest team score in each course will bring home the championship.
